How does it work?
The Roger Multimedia Hub takes a direct audio feed from the media device. It sends this via radio frequency either directly to your Phonak Hearing Aids receiver, or to neckloop receivers worn by those who are hard of hearing. The loop around the neck creates the hearing or “induction’ loop. This loop creates an electromagnetic field that is picked up by the t-coil in the hearing aid. The hearing aid then converts this back into speech sound for the user to hear.
The receiver has a simple on/off switch. It is powered by a rechargeable battery with easy to check status displayed on the top edge, between the neckloop sockets. The volume is easily controlled and is displayed on the front of the device along with pairing information. An audible beep tells you that the microphone is not switched on or the receiver is not paired (connected) with the microphone.
The multimedia hub also has a simple on/off and mute button. It can connect to a TV, laptop, tablet or other audio device via a 3.5mm jack input. The system comes with 2 x 3.5mm audio cables however if other connecting cables are required, such as AUX or TOS for the TV, these must be purchased separately.
